Baltic Biomaterials Centre of Excellence
Baltic Biomaterials Centre of Excellence – BBCE is European Union research and innovation program “Horizon 2020” financed project with identity nr. 857287. Project is carried out from the year of 2020 till 2026.
BBCE main objective is to develop united Baltic Biomaterial Centre of excellence for various biomaterial research, development and production. This project is in close strategic collaboration with AO research centre in Davos (Switzerland), Friedrich–Alexander University Erlangen–Nürnberg (Germany), Riga Technical University, Riga Stradins University Institute of Stomatology and Latvian Organic Synthesis institute (Latvia).
BBCE will provide a complete development cycle starting with laboratory stages and ending with clinical applications focusing on individual implant production for bone regeneration with evidence from 3 levels: composition, geometry and bioactive substances.
Active PhD students under supervision of post-doctoral researchers and with BBCE project support is actively conducting research and providing results as well as international peer-reviewed scientific publications.
Our goal is to develop new biomaterial for clinical applications to evolve and provide new treatment options. RSU Institute of Somatology will provide treatments with approved biomaterials in oral and maxillofacial surgery as well as periodontology.
