Every year Latvian Health Ministry offers students, that just finished medical school, to apply for residency in their chosen speciality. One of the offered residencies is oral and maxillofacial surgery (OAM) led by Associated Professor Ģirts Šalms (Latvian Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Association President).

This year two ambitious junior doctors – Dr. Lana Mičko and Dr. Ilze Prikule, were accepted into the rigorous and intensive program of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery.
